Heart pine is the most dense variety of pine, falling just above red oak on the Janka Hardness Scale.
We stock random widths from 3” to 10,” and can mill 2-1/2” for repairs of floors in older homes.
Heart Pine Timbers were the preferred building material throughout most of the Industrial Revolution. Prior to steel, almost every commercial structure was built using at least some heart pine.
Due to the over harvesting from more than 100 years ago, the only place you can cultivate old-growth heart pine is from these structures.
We offer heart pine custom reclaimed floors in a plain sawn, wide grain pattern or a vertical grain, tighter grain patterns.
